Hmmm, well it's that time again for the gathering of user feedback.
I do realise that my priorities are all over the place when it comes to assignments, but meh.
Anyway, blogging a few screenshots for Web Design 1 because I'm stuck on ideas for the look. The coding is still a work in progress but that shall be up once I'm done.
1. First Round:
For this first one, I initially thought to go for a sketchy look. But the problem I faced here was the inconsistency of the pencil strokes and I didn't have enough space because the dimensions were fixed.
2. Second Round:
Ok, dramatic change here. With both design and coding. You can't see it in the screenshot, but it scrolls horizontally. And I decided to go with digitised graphics instead. Menu is fixed at the bottom, centre.
3. Third Attempt:
Ok, not much changed here, just finalised a colour scheme and changed the title banner thing, just some tweaking.
4. Fourth Go, yo.
Graphic enhancement. Menu improved, effects added. (I apologise about the lack of a protoype - It's coming). Background a bit blergh.
5. Current Look:
So this is what it looks like currently. Still feel that there's something missing or there's something that looks odd, but i can't put my finger on it, I guess I've been looking at it for 3 days straight, so that could be it.
Another shot of the current design:
Screenshot of what an actual section looks like. Format is pretty standard. The other pages are pretty similar, just the graphics are different.
I am kinda annoyed/angry/uninspired at the moment. The site is pissing me off...
Anyway, that is all for now.

Progress on all fronts is kind of slow.
Well, generally.
Anyway, this is a short assignment update. I have a few more to get through, but I'm going to take a break for now. We have received the final project brief for Visual Fundamentals and it seems doable enough. Minimum requirement: 12-frame storyboard for a tourism TV commercial for your chosen country and a poster thing for said country.
We've had our midterm for Survey of SEA Art and Culture. I don't even know the actual name for this subject, it's so long. It was also doable enough.
Web Design final project is in the works, but there is A LOT to be done. I stayed up till about 5am this morning trying to get the lightbox working. It's still not working, >_<. I can't say I am at all satisfied with the overall look but I don't know how to make it look better because I fail at drawing. !@#$
Typo and DSM...no hope, no comment.
DGM2 is on track, but barely.
That is all for the update, I think. Now have some Haunted Mansion! Nyerh!

Back to the grind and such.
I apologise (yes, to my non-existent audience) for the lack of updates on this blog. I find it a little bit sad that a "blogging assignment" has been the reason for the revival of this blog, however, I do hope I can continue to update.
I won't make any promises, though, because I have a regular blog that I tend to neglect also. Anyway, we shall see how it goes.
Semester 5 has started and so far so good. I guess I say this because we have only had about two classes. But the two classes we have had have been pretty good.
So, anyway, we had our first Web Design 1 class today. It is probably unhealthy how enthusiastic I am about this particular subject. I have been waiting 4 semesters to start this subject, so that may be why I'm so excited about it.
Hmmm. Well, this is just a revival post – an update of sorts. I shall post my assignment entry tomorrow because I'm sick (literally) and kind of tired (physically) right now and need rest because we have a field trip tomorrow, ^_^.
And the layout for this blog is pretty ugly, I must admit. A makeover is necessary.
And that is all.

School has been hectic.
I haven't updated this in a while.
So this is an update. Semester ends in 3 weeks and I we got our Mr. Potato Head assignments back.
As usual, I'm kicking myself over stupid little careless mistakes, >_<.
Now look at the pretty potato, k.

Yes, a quick update!

I have changed the header for this blog.
As usual, it is transitory, temporary. Until the next one, that is.
The map used for the background is an actual KL map. And the compass was the one I made a while back, the font is courtesy of DaFont.com and I used Photochop! to throw everything together.
That is all for this update, there is nothing more I have to mention.
End.

Anyway, two cute little alarm clocks! Enjoy, enjoy!

I have just finished the bronze clock!
I don't know how it turned out and I am not sure whether or not I am happy with it.
Anyway. I have learnt a very important lesson by doing this assignment. I just started making the clock without checking to see what colour mode I had set the document to. By default, it was set to CMYK, so when I attempted to post the finished clocks on this blog, the colour was all messed up.
So, it is very, very, VERY, VERY, very, VERY important to check the colour mode thing BEFORE you start doing your assignment. I have finally changed all the colour modes to RGB.

Anyway, after I finished the bronze clock in Illustrator, I exported the file to Photochop and played with the colour balance to get a blue colour scheme. I like the blue, but I'm not sure if the light and shadow play is realistic enough.

The BRONZE one

I have just transferred this blog to another one of my Google Accounts.

My dashboard of my main account was getting a little too crowded.
So, Nongkyndong will no longer be posting here. Instead! All posts will be made by the Melatoninja. Now, I do realise that this point is extremely pointless seeing as both pseudonyms (pen names?) refer to me. I do believe that it will be relevant one day. But not today.
Anyway, still have a lot to do to this blog. It is a work in progress, so this isn't the final layout.
This is a short update.
