Hi there!
Our most recent assignment submission was a "series" of icons.
So, building on that, we are required to collect user feedback in order to improve on the design.
So, I need your help!
All you need to do is answer the following questions in regards to my icons:
1. Can you tell what each icon represents?
(e.g: Settings, Help, About Us, Contact, WiFi, etc.)
2. Is the function of each icon clear enough, or did you have to think about what it was?
3. Based on colour, do the icons appeal to you?
4. If I designed a website for you, would you want to use these icons?
5. What do you dislike about the icons?
- Colour
- Graphics
- Workmanship (not neat enough?)
- Function not obvious
6. What did you like about the icons?
- Colour
- Graphics
- Workmanship (neat, tidy?)
- Function is obvious, easy to identify
7. What about the workmanship? Do you think the finished designs are neat/messy/tacky/cheap-looking/6-year-old could do better?
8. Last question! Any comments to help me improve them? Anything I should keep/lose?

- 1st icon looks like Home.
2nd Email/Contact
3rd Home ( or a cat emo'ing in front of the house. :b )
4th no idea. Kinda looks like an umbrella shielding the mail from rain?

- Had to give it a thought and saw the examples, then only realised what function it proposes. First thought was HALLOWEEN!
3. Based on colour, do the icons appeal to you?
- It's okay, depending on the background of the website the icon has to be put onto.
4. If I designed a website for you, would you want to use these icons?
- Depending on what kind of layout/website would be.
5. What do you dislike about the icons?

- Would prefer if the icons were animated. (:

Q1. icon 1 is home, icon 2 is email/mail, icon 3 is something to do with repairing so SETTING, icon 4 is wireless (Wi-Fi)
Q2. clearly not good enough to be understandable. Needs to do some thinking...
Q3. Not appealing. Color seems a bit dull and not attractive to me including the design
Q4. Neh...nope. Icon too complicated to understand
Q5. Dislike: color, graphics for icon 1 and 2, function complicated that needs thinking and design (worksmanship) of icon 1 and 2 sucks to me. (Whats with the cat?)
Q6. Graphic for icon 3 and 4 is the only thing i like and color okay but too dark
Q7. Design is kinda not related to what it's trying to portray. Icon 1 and 2 looks not professional enough or its not neat
Q8. Keep the design simple and easy to understand, lighten the color or have some brighter color to catch the eyes of the audience, dont add something not related to what it portrays (that is, dont add the cat)

1 and 2 are not too clear, the others are nice and clear in my opinion.

The 2 first were not clear, the others were clear enough.

Yes!

Yes, I think so!

As I said, the function of 1 or 2 is not obvious, at least for me. The graphics are not so good as in 3 or 4 either.

In 3 and 4 specially, I love everything mentioned here.

The first ones do look a bit messy to me, but still not cheap.
8. Last question! Any comments to help me improve them? Anything I should keep/lose?
I think icon 2 in the style of 3 or 4 would be very cute.

-Have to think about what it was.

-for the first 2 icon. the background somehow doesnt blend in.

- prefect mix ex. the cat and the house color for the first 2 icon

- it's simple and nice but cant really tell what it is for.

- for the first 2 [icon 1&2] change the background or you can try using another color. example like black and white/red. cause when i see it somehow gimme the "Emily the Strange" kind feel. for the other 2, try to make it able to identify easier.

1.Icon 1 is home, icon2 is mail, icon 3 is also home, icon4 for is mail.
2.Everything is clear, icon4 is a bit confusing for me i keep looking at the glorious umbrella it looks awesome! At first i thought it meant antivirus or something, and now i am just guessing it is e-mail. HA!
3.Hell yeah, the implementation of the themey halloweeney is great for the colour mood. btw is it halloween?
4. Depending on its purpose. As a webmail service user-interface

5.Everthing is great! ARGH icon 4 i like the umbrella but it confuses me from understanding the message, I need to train subliminal reading skills.
6. I lurve everything the cats and the house things, i like the umbrella its flurple! but once again it confuses me. Good play with colours, function is awesome!
7.Six year old are on steroids nowadays...you never know(damn those baby formula milk powder stimulants)....But on a serious note workmanship is good, cant comment much on the pixel art though never seen much pixel art to comment on this. I think some brushing up could do wonders for its complexion!
8.I like the umbrella man! But it confuses me grrrrrr. It so good it distracts me from the message.

Well, i'm not so clear about the 3rd and 4th one. The rest is clear~

Perhaps it's a bit too dark and gloomy to my liking. Maybe a lighter shade will do?

I'd gladly take icon 1# and 2#, but i'd have to think abt 3# and 4#.
5. Perhaps the colour is a bit too gloomy.
6. The cat element and overall shape is nice! Workmanship is good enough.
7. The workmanship is fine. Perhaps the 3rd one can be improved.
8. Perhaps try some other colour scheme? Cuz users will come across these icons all the time; you wouldn't want melancholic colours. (or maybe it's just me)
And the 3rd icon (house?) could be portrayed less literally. The umbrella in the 4th is really nice, looks solid and convincing, but try enlarging the rain droplets 'cause it's too small.

Icon1=home..Icon2=mail me lolz..Both small icons would be used on a webpage..Handphone is fine too~
Icon3=home, can be used as a handphone icon..Icon4=mail but erm, I really can't tell what it is at 1st glance >.<;..But can be used as a handphone icon too?

Icon4, err, satellite?..The rest is a.ok.

Based on colour, I find it oook~ But for the small icons, the bg colour doesn't look too suitable..I can't really see the purple against the old green colour..leaving it white would be more visible..Orange would be nice too if you were to change the purple~
4. If I designed a website for you, would you want to use these icons?
Why yes~.. the small ones are perfect for a spooky+fun website~ The larges ones, maybe Icon3, for handphones.
5. What do you dislike about the icons?
Icon4 is a bit odd, I can't recognize it ^^;..the umbrella looks roundish at the bottom, maybe because of the shadow? Not the bg shadow, but the darker purple at the bottom..You should add the wire thingy/skeleton for the umbrella?..It also makes me think, "why an umbrella and letter at the bottom?"..Maybe a cat can be holding the letter by its mouth instead of an umbrella and letter at the bottom? Just my opinion..Shadow for icon4 got cut off..centralize the pic or maybe make the items slightly smaller for the shadow space? xD;
6. What did you like about the icons?
The small icons are cute~
The large ones, Icon3 is wow, cool~ <3..With the cat by the door too~ Nice~
7. What about the workmanship? Nicely done and clean~ But icon4 erm..(as mentioned in 5)

Maybe change Icon4? Cat maybe? Or if not then the umbrella can be on the ground with a bit of the underneath showing and with the letter underneath next to the holder(hope its understandable)? Just my opinion yes.
Overall, I'd say its a pretty good job ya did thar~ Spooky=cool :3

> had to think about what it was because 1&@ look structurally different, so there is little relation and a bit confusing...

>yes the colours are very quite well co-ordinated (black/purple/yellow)

>i'd want to use icons 3&4 because they look more polished.
5. What do you dislike about the icons?
>1&@ are 2D and 3&4 look more polised and a bit 3D-ish
* Colour - great colours, except maybe the olive green background on 1&2
* Graphics -i like 3&4 but 1&2 not too much
* Workmanship (not neat enough?)-1&2 arent as polised as 3&4
* Function not obvious- 1&2 are quite straight forwad and basic, so i could associate them easily with HOME/EMAIL(contact us) immediately, but 3&4 although more polished, they arent as direct..

* Colour - i like the colours lol
* Graphics - 1&2 are basic and easy to get, but workmanship not too good; 3&4 are very well polised but i dont think it does the job of communicating its function as well as 1&2

>in terms of workmanship, 1&2 look tacky and cheap looking,but 3&4 are very well polished and neat.

>keep 3&4 and lose 1&2? (if possible?)lol or you could polish up 1&2 to look like 3&4 and tone down 3&4's complexity to a more basic level like 1&2?? :D

the first 3 is very obvious, the 4th one isnt clear.

yes, but maybe another colour can be used for the background of the first and second icon.

yes, it its to give out a halloween or a dark yet subtle feeling.

evrything is nice and tidy. maybe touch up on the 4th icon to make it clearer.

colour of choice, workmanship is great for the 3rd and 4th.

no doubt that it has a professional feel to it.

make the details in the 4th icons more obvious.
